A morphometric study of Sardinella longiceps (Cuv and Val) and S. fimbriata from the Goa region

Abstract



The metric and meristic characters of Sardinella longiceps and S. fimbriata from the Goa region in India collected from December 1974 to February 1975 have been studied, and the results obtained have been compared with those of the earlier workers. The deviations found in the local populations in both the species are so distinctive that they may be regarded as comprising of separate subgroups
