Toxicity tests of oil dispersants on some marine animals
Abstract
Toxicity of four oil dispersants, manufactured in India, were tested on some marine animals, using static bioassay technique. Experiments have shown that, inspite of major differences in physico-chemical properties, all the four dispersants are toxic, and hence their use should be restricted. Effects of furnace oil mixed with each of the four dispersants indicated that oil-dispersant mixture reduced the toxicity markedly
