Report on the occurrence of Acanthaster sp. in Lakshadweep waters

Abstract



Acanthaster sp. is reported for the first time from Lakshadweep waters. Since Acanthaster 'plague' is a major threat to the coral population, it is suggested that a detailed investigation should be undertaken to study its population density and the destruction so far caused by them
