Studies on the growth of penaeid prawns 4. growth of Metapenaeus dobsoni under different levels of feeding

Abstract

Growth pattern of juvenile etapenaeus dobsoni under different feeding levels have been studied for fourteen weeks. The fortnightly growth increments during the experimental period varied between 0.92 and 8.5 mm depending on the frequency of feeding. The growth pattern exhibited by M. dobsoni was almost a replica of that published for Penaeus indicus thus confirming the conclusions made therein. The Walford plot and Bayley's fit both indicated that the growth pattern does not conform to that described by the Von Bertalanffy's equation and the fortnightly growth increments also did not show any decreasing trend
