Length-weight relationship in threadfin breams Nemipterus japonicus and Nemipterus mesoprion from Cochin Coast, Kerala (India)
Abstract
The relationship between length and weight of Nemipterus japonicus and Nemipterus mesoprion were studied for a period of two years from Cochin Coast. In both the species, the exponent values for male and females were less than three indicating that the per unit increase in length of fish, the weight increased by less than three times, except in juveniles, where it was more than three. The slopes were significantly different in male, female and juveniles of both the species
