Waves off the southeast coast of India
Abstract
Using ten years data collected during 1961 to 1970 an analysis of ocean wave parameters observed off the south east coast of India has been made. It is found that wave height is one metre or less on more than 50% of the occasions. However, high and long period waves occurred in good number during the northeast monsoon season. The energy spectra show the peak around 7 secs. period in all season except NE monsoon when the peak shifts to around 9 secs. period
