Encrusting bryozoans in coastal waters of Bombay
Abstract
In the near shore waters of Bombay 7 encrusting cheilostome species occurred in fairly good abundance. Amongst these Electra bengalensis the most prevalent species settled throughout the year. The recruitment of bryozoans in general was found to proceed uninterruptedly during the monsoon. Some species also settled and grew in highly polluted water in the harbour. The presence of Hippopodina feegeensis in Bombay waters is reported here for the first time
